What Each Starting Rate Covers
Spring swap, from $150 per spring. One new torsion or extension spring, sized to the weight of your door, set to the right tension and checked with a hand-lift balance test. The figure grows when a door has two springs that both need changing, when a heavy wood or insulated door needs a larger spring, or when extension springs have no safety cables. More on spring repair.
Lift cable swap, from $150 per cable. One new lift cable, hooked to the bottom bracket and wound evenly on its drum so the door lands level. Cables wear as a pair, so if the second one is frayed too, the figure covers both. A bent bottom bracket or a cracked drum adds parts, and we show you the damage first. See cable repair.
Roller set, from $120 per set. A complete set of rollers for the door, changed one at a time while the door stays in its rails. The roller type you pick and the number of rollers on a wide door move the figure. The bottom rollers share a bracket with the lift cables, so we release the spring tension before we change them.
Track fix or derailed door, from $150 per door. Rollers guided back into the rails, a bent stretch of track trued, and loose brackets and bolts tightened to the wall. A kinked or torn rail has to be replaced rather than bent back, and a door that came off its track with force may also need new rollers or hinges. Read about track repair.
Opener fix, on-site quote. Openers differ by make, drive type and age, so we test the unit before naming a figure. A safety eye that only needs lining up is a small job; a failed logic board or a stripped drive gear means parts, and the quote lists each one.
Section swap, on-site quote. One damaged section replaced with a matching panel. The figure depends on the maker, model, size, color and finish of your door, and on whether that model is still built. If no match exists, we tell you before you spend anything.
Check-up visit, $0 when you approve the repair. The visit covers a balance test and a look at the springs, cables, rollers, rails, opener and safety eyes. You hear the fixed figure, and if you say yes to the repair, the check-up costs nothing.
Why We Show Starting Rates
A light single door and a heavy double door need very different springs. A wide range would not tell you much. So Island Fox lists where each common job starts, then gives you the exact figure for your door. Once you approve it, that figure holds unless you ask for more work.
Quoted at Your Door
Opener fixes, sections and new doors depend on make, model and size, so we quote them on site. See opener repair and panel replacement.
